Campbell Introduces Nearly Three Dozen New Soups and Sauces to America's Store Shelves
CAMDEN, N.J., Sep 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB) today announced that it will launch 35 new products this fall in its U.S. Soup and Simple Meals business -- seven times the number of new items than were brought to market last year.
Some of the new product highlights include:
- A variety of new Campbell's(R) soups, including five new Campbell's(R) Slow Kettle(R) Style soups created by Campbell chefs to be "better than homemade"; four new regionally-inspired Campbell's(R) Select Harvest(R)soups that tap the authentic flavors of places like New Orleans, New England and the Southwest; and eight new Campbell's(R) Healthy Request (R) soups that provide heart-healthy alternatives for some of the most popular soup varieties in Campbell's condensed, Select Harvest and Chunky soup lines.
- For convenient, simple meal making, Campbell is launching two 50-ounce, family-size cans of Campbell's(R) Chunky(TM) soup, which make a perfect meal in only minutes when poured over mashed potatoes or rice; three new Swanson(R) Flavor Boost(TM) products that deliver a concentrated broth in easy-to-use packets for skillet dishes or stir fries; and two new unsalted Swanson stocks developed for people who want to add rich beef or chicken flavor without adding salt.
- In the Italian sauces category four unique Italian sauces will be introduced under the Wolfgang Puck(R) brand. The Prego(R)Italian sauce line will enter a new category with two pizza sauce offerings, and will also add a lower calorie Prego(R) Light Smart sauce.
- In the Mexican sauce category, two new Pace(R)Mexican saucesare being launched: Restaurant-Style salsa, a smoother blend than classic Chunky Salsa, and Salsa con Queso, a smooth cheese sauce that pours directly from the jar.
